So we moved her into a social model assisted living and she loves it! They assigned her an ambassador who is helping her get to know the community and other residents. She now has her socialization back and she seems to be happy. However, she continues to want my husband and me to come and help her with little incidentals. We have done all that she has wanted, but it's time to let her utilize the services they offer.
I say this for those of you who may be experiencing the same "severing" of the strings and not feel guilty. It can be difficult, but with time, she will thrive without so much attention from us.
