Hepatitis C, a primary liver infection, kills more people in the U.S. than any other infectious disease, according to the CDC. However, testing for the presence of infection is sorely lacking. The most vulnerable goups-Baby Boomers, are particularly at risk. Nearly 20,000 Americans died from Hep C-related disorders, and most were 55 and older. Baby Boomers are reportedly five times more likely to have been exposed, because they lived in an era where blood transfusions, injection procedures and screening processes were not nearly as advanced as today. Treated in time, most can make a full recovery, but the most important piece is getting tested!
