Hoarding Disorder
Before
Gwyneth Blackwell is trained in all aspects of people who suffer from hoarding disorder. Our team has successfully saved people from eviction due to the condition of their homes.
We work one on one with people with hoarding disorder. We first establish trust (many hoarders are suspicious of others) and then we set goals together.
People with hoarding disorder tend to be very intelligent and educated.
Most times, the disorder is triggered by a traumatic event in their lives that makes it difficult, if not impossible, to let go of even inconsequential belongings.
There is a high recidivism rate so ongoing counseling is something
we typically factor into our care plan.
We have close working relationships with vetted clean-up and moving companies, so when the big clean-up happens, we are on the job.
